Status

Workshop held 2026-09-08/09 at Google Zurich, co-organised by W3C and GS1. A report and follow-up session is proposed for Technical Plenary and Advisory Committee (TPAC) 2026 (breakout #34, open on 2026-10-13 with one comment and no assigned slot). A workshop report: not found in the root of the workshop repository nor in its commits (the last push is of 2026-09-09), read 2026-10-13.

Relevance

The workshop covers merchants' context, legal accountability, protocols, trust and ownership, product data, identity and authorisation, and payment; position statements (issues #10 to #34 and #45) are each the statement of its author. On seller authority and product identity, position statement #31 by Sven Böckelmann says "Resolution says where the data is; a signature says who signed it.

Neither says who may speak for the product."; #21 (GS1 Digital Link) is related. On agent identity, delegation and consent, statements include #22 (FIDO Alliance Payments Technical Working Group (TWG), which says AP2 and Verifiable Intent are "now under review within the PTWG") and #26 (Skyfire).
